Carnarvon is on the coast, and was a regular port of call for vessels on the west coast trade runs. That has long since passed, but the sunsets over the beach are really majestic.
Here are some samples - not every night mind you, but I was lucky to catch one.
I retired from paid employment at the end of 2002 - then started to look for interests of things I had never had a chance to "try".
For starters I tried volunteering around Sydney - from rebuilding old ships like the inner harbor ferry Kanangra, to guiding for National Trust at Parramatta, and teaching children through National Trust Education programs - to further afield, like digging dinosaur bones in Winton, Queensland.
My other love is travel, so in 2008, I combined my volunteering with travel to Peru with Peru's Challenge May to July helping a community at Puma Marca. I returned to Peru again in June 2010, along with Liz, Gerry and Amanda. In Jan 2010 I travelled to WA to do some volunteer work in Carnarvon helping an Indigenous Community at Mungullah.
