Dance Competition - Now the REAL Thing

Ok - we have had the morning waiting, getting ready, adjusting the makeup, getting nervous - and now it is time for the REAL THING.

(Left - our banner bearer leads the way, with the monkeys in hot pursuit - but to wait a little bit longer)

(Right - they start to form up to get up rythm and get into the music beat)

(Left - the girls strut out)

(Right - the other girls holding small baskets carrying fruit, and the boys with their spears follow along)

Prepartion was in the small square behind the buildings, and now we have to go down the small lane way to the main plaza.

(Below - here are some of the preliminary steps)
(Right - the dancing is under way in the main plaza)

(Left - our group prepares for the actual performance)

(Right - parts of the dance)

(Left - the dances in progress)

(Above - and listen to the beat and the music)

And after all that effort, our school came in third (I heard!). But the children deserve the tributes - strating at some early hour, and then spending almost a whole day in preparation - they finished about 3pm - dancing in bare feet on hot sealed surfaces, and with no breaks in between they deserved it. Well done Puma Marca
