Around the Neighbourhood

Our area hasn't chamged a lot since 2008 - but here is a walk around.

(Left - walking down the street to the west side of our block)

(Right - very typical of Cusco - half built concrete structures)

(Left - further down the street - walking is very common - but
very carefully due to the speed of the traffic that there is)

(Right - further down the street, you can see part of Cusco across the valley)

(Left - the main thoroughfare, which leads to down town Cusco - very sparse with traffic this day - due to a strike taking most vehicles off the road - they are serious
about strikes here!! They will throw bricks through the windows of cars that defy the strike)

(Right - the local University buildings)

(Left - this condor statue is outside the University buildings)

(Right - the service station is our marker when coming home by taxi - here we turn left, off the main street)

(Left - we are almost directly under the flight path for incoming, and outgoing aircraft - it is good to set the watches by - on time most days)

(Right - the main intersection near the Repsol service station - the intersection is in terrible condition following the floods here earlier in the year.)
