On the Way - Sydney to Chile

The time is about 9.30am in Sydney, and we are ready for our flight (eventually) to Peru. Takeoff is at 10am.

(Left - our plane, an Airbus A340)

(Right - belted in awaiting takeoff)

Our carrier, LAN Airlines operates a daily service from Sydney to Auckland and then the 11 1/2 flight to Santiago.

(Left - after the all darkness flight we arrive over the west coast of Chile and then make our way beside the Andes and their snow
capped peaks)

(Right - the next available flight to Peru and Lima is not until later that day, so it is easy enough to check into the LAN lounge where there is peace and quiet, and also food and beverages and a shower to pass away the 8 hour lay over.
