The Local Markets

In addition to the access that we have to local supermarkets we also have a local market which provides many types of goods and services.

(Left and right - the meal provision areas - granted the surroundings are not that great!! But I would imagine that taking the cost into account it can be considered reasonable)

Everything from provision of meals at tables, sale of fresh meat and chicken (which we don't touch due to the preparation and storage conditions and the probable addition of salmonella), all
sorts of dairy products, clothing, a small range of hardware and kitchenware to fresh fruit and vegetables. Most of these appear to
be like our normal small stalls at craft markets.

(Right - some of the typical brick enclosures used to separate some of the stall holders - also note the four legged customer)

(Left - plenty of meat and chicken available - just a bit if a lack of refrigeration or lovely packaging - also you can get ANY part of any animal here!!!!!!)

(Right - our uniformed staff are ready to help you)

(Left - the whole place is covered)

(Right - down the far end of the pavilion is the potato section. Here
you can buy many of the thousands of varieties available in Peru

(Left - vegetables of all kinds are available)

(Right - and fruits - just make sure that what you buy has a thick skin, or you can wash it thoroughly!!)

(Left - this chicken stand even makes some suggestions as to what you can buy for dinner)

(Right - chicken of all sorts)

(Left - fruit and vegetables as much as you want!! - Our weekly shop for 4 of us was about AuDol 10)
